Tempus Fugit.

Basically Latin died out with the Roman Empire, but a handful of Latin phrases will probably always be a part of the English language because, well, I really have no idea.

Perhaps it makes the writer appear half smart.  That's certainly why I sprinkle in the few I know as often as I can.

Nevertheless, time does fly,  especially as we get older.  And I have no clue to why that is either.

I discovered tonight that this website was begun in 2002. It's now in its eleventh year!  Amazing!

(Apparently, the very first blog was created by someone in 1997)

The CHS54 articles from the first couple of years have been lost, or perhaps were never saved in the first place. However, there are some that go back as far as 2004.

Here's the oldest one that I was able to find.  Interestingly enough, it's about an even earlier time in our lives, courtesy of Robert Clark:

SPRING BREAK MYRTLE BEACH 1954

From the attic of Robert Clark…………….comes an exciting episode in THE ADVENTURES OF MYRTLE BEACH, 1954!
Folks, this was “SPRING BREAK”……….before that term was even invented! Return with us now….to those thrilling days of yesteryear………Scroll down to almost the very end of this site to view this historical documentary.

WARNING: Parental guidance is advised!

Here’s a perfect example of how kind the members of our class were. Robert Dodge and Johnny Culp are shown here coming to the aid of a fellow classmate, who obviously sprained his ankle.
Thanks for the pictures, Robert!
ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY TO SEND IN???
