I'm sorry to have to communicate that Dad passed away yesterday. We all knew the ultimate outcome of the cancer but it surprised everyone including his doctors and nurses that the end came so soon. And although he was uncomfortable, he didn't have much pain during his last days. He died completely peacefully in his sleep.
Thank you all for your concern and expressions of best wishes. It meant a lot to him to hear from you and he told us stories of some of your times together as we read him each email.
Funeral plans are as follows:
Time: Sunday, June 28, 2:00 PM with visitation immediately following in the church parlor
Place: First Baptist Church, Georgetown, SC, 219 Cleland St.
A burial/memorial service in Shelby NC is being planned but a date and time has not been set. I have attached a preliminary obituary with details about his life.
Today all our family will be here and Mom is doing well. She and Dad had a wonderful 59 years of marriage together.
